New records to search and key.
Earlier this month five additional projects were added to the Live database collection for your searching pleasure, Australia Historical Postcards, Fife, Scotland, Voters Lists, 1832-1894, U.S. Naturalization Originals – MD and VA, 1906-1930, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Piedmont, Italy, Indexed Marriage Records, 1896-1929 and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Piedmont, Italy, Indexed Death Records, 1896-1936. Combined these projects bring close to 200,000 names online to be searched, and found. Thank you to everyone who contributed to these projects!
And earlier today we released the #8 voted for project, Kent, England, Tyler Index to Parish Registers, and Queensland, Australia, Pioneers & Settlers Registers, 1825 -1940 to be keyed.
The Tyler Parish records are extractions of birth, marriage, death, monument inscriptions, … that Frank Tyler compiled into 340 books. I am not sure how long it will take us to key these records but i imagine it will be less time than it took to extract them!
I have enjoyed keying the Queensland records as they are typed (less brain strain) and it is nice to see families being keyed together. We are keying from two volumes of compilations for those who lived in the area prior to 1940. Although the two volumes are different formats they are both easy to follow – my main piece of advice is to become familiar with the abbreviations.
I will be online watching the New Project Q & A message board tomorrow morning from around 10-11 am MT. Join me to talk about the project and ask any questions you may have.
Happy keying!
