This photo is the Rev W.R. Bossard, then of Telluride, Colorado and Edward Theodore Price, then of Tampa, Florida, aged two, ca. 1909. I am the daughter of the boy and am perhaps a descendant of the discoverer of the Rosetta Stone who was a Bouchard/Boussard.

  1. What an unusual photo capturing the smiles and spirit of the two year old and the reverend when so many photos from that era were so serious and cold.

  2. Yes, I agree with Carol Warburton! The Reverend looks so casual, and happy with a two year old hanging off his knee – and it is refreshing to see that expression of happiness when so many pictures of that time frame are so dour…!

  3. When I first saw the photo of Rev. Bossard and the little boy, I felt joy! This is probably the first picture dated that early that I have ever seen of people smiling! Wonderful! Their true personalities shine through!

  4. Could this Kendall family be descended from Peter Kandel and Elizabeth Druschel of Pa. and Walnut Creek, oh?

  5. My the second wife of my fourth great-grandfather, Peter Stimmel, was Barbara Bossart/Bossard/Bussard/Buzzard, etc. Wonder if she was related to Rev. Bossard? Barbara and Peter were married 29 May 1794 in Frederick County, Maryland. I don’t know the names of her parents or any siblings, but I wondered how far back you’ve researched the pastor.
