1. I was a little slow in checking out the newly posted MN Territorial & State Censuses Index, but tried it last night–and struck pay dirt with the first search. I found my great-grandfather August Johnson in the 1895 state census, living with his family in Minneapolis (he had died before the US 1900 census.) And the street address matched the address in a death notice published in the Minneapolis Tribune that I thought was his but could not be sure. With that street address link, I now will pursue the cemetery records. So if you have Minnesota relatives, try this new database!
