New Keying Projects; our Fourth and Fifth Runners Up

September has been a busy month for new additions to the download list – 2 Easy and 5 Average projects have joined our available projects.   With so many projects to choose from I hope everyone has found a project they are enjoying!

The fourth place finisher was England, Register of Duties Paid for Apprentices’ Indentures, 1710-1811.  For these records we are capturing the names of the Masters and Apprentices.  Due to the majority of the records being handwritten and the quality of the images (you will likely want to adjust the contrast and brightness) this project is rated as Average – if you enjoy a small challenge take a chance on these records, I think you’ll enjoy them.

At #5, a mere 877 votes behind, was Appointments of U.S. Postmasters, 1832-1971.  This project is also rated as Average – there are potential challenges with image quality and handwriting but you’ll also need to put your Sherlock Holmes hat on as you scour the image for the names of the Postmasters.  There are also a few more detailed instructions so make sure to review the Field Helps before you begin – which I hope we all do for every new project.

I am trying a new venue for questions about the new projects –  the New Project Question and Answer message board.  Tomorrow morning, from around 9-10 am MT, I will be on the board to answer questions in real time so I hope to see a few of you there!  Of course, you can post questions there any time and we will still answer them. 🙂  (The messages for each project will be moved to their respective message boards before new projects are released.)

Best wishes and happy keying!
