What Are You Doing For The Next Couple of Weeks?
Well – I certainly know what I’ve been doing with the LAST couple of weeks. I spent a weekend down in Los Angeles where I got to meet with a few of you and interview you about your keying experience. That was certainly a treat! Then, this past weekend, I was invited to present at an all day genealogy conference for the local African American Historical and Genealogical Society at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. I got to meet a few more of our World Archives contributors there and signed up a few new keyers to join our ranks. It makes for an exhausting time working two weekends in a row. But, it is definitely worth it when I get to associate with the likes of you. Your stories of giving back to the genealogy community, finding new genealogy leads as you key, and discovering new record types you didn’t know existed are truly inspiring.

As for what’s coming up in the next couple of weeks…
Be sure to mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 1st. We are launching our summer keying challenge (more information to come on this exciting opportunity) with a Twitter Keying Party. If you don’t yet have a Twitter account, sign up here: http://twitter.com/. Then, be sure to follow us at http://Twitter.com/WorldArchives. We hope you’ll join us on Twitter on June 1st from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (Mountain Time, aka GMT-6). There you can share information about what you are keying and ask questions of AWAP staff, other keyers and arbitrators. Let’s see just how many records keyed and arbitrated we can rack up in three short hours.
Also – Are you going to be at the Southern California Genealogical Society 2010 Jamboree on June 11th-13th? We are! Please stop by the Ancestry.com booth and say hello. We’d love to meet you and hear about your keying experience.
Until next time – Happy Keying!
When I download a project, the box that says Downloading Set Now or something like that stays when the set is downloaded. Being right in the middle you can’t see around it. It causes lots of arrowing up and down to see the whole image. Fix please?
