March Milestones

Hard to believe that March is already over and April is upon us.  Even harder to believe because as of yesterday it was still snowing here in Utah.  (Grrrrr!  Not an amusing April Fools’ joke, Mother Nature.)

Guess that’s why I’m taking off in a few minutes and heading to Vegas – where it better be warmer than here.  For his birthday, I’m flying my dad in from Oregon and we’ll be watching the Viva Elvis Cirque show tonight before heading back here to Utah tomorrow to spend Easter with some of the family.  As much as I love all things genealogy – and believe me I do, from research, to keying, to writing up family stories and sorting through pictures – it’s important to take time to create family history with the family we have now.  I’ll get back to keying on Monday.

In the meantime here are a few milestones from March:

  • We now have over 44,000 registered keyers, including 4300 new keyers just in March.
  • You keyed and arbitrated over 2.9 million records!  Wow!
  • We sent out our bi-monthly newsletter.  If you didn’t receive it in your email you can read it here.

Until next time – Happy Keying!

P.S. – Don’t forget to join us on Monday for our monthly Virtual Keying Party.  We’ll all be keying from 10:00 am -2:00 pm (Mountain Time).  And we’ll be available on Twitter to answer any questions.  Hope to see you there!

We sure have been busy, haven’t we?

I hope you had a fun trip, Crista, and that the weather was warm. Easter in northern New England was quite sunny with temps in the 70’s!

Just curious about how you go about obtaining information, beside’s naturalization records etc, what about museum’s? Do you have members contact the museum, ask permission to scan documents etc. for recording or what? Thanks
