Two More New Projects
-by Jocelyn
We are excited to add this new USHMM project to the AWAP community. This new large project should provide hundreds of thousands of additional names for research.
USHMM-Jewish Survivors in Poland
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is the United States’ official memorial to the Holocaust. The USHMM provides for the documentation, study, and interpretation of Holocaust history. It is dedicated to “helping leaders and citizens of the world confront hatred, prevent genocide, promote human dignity, and strengthen democracy.”
This collection features lists of names or forms of Jewish Survivors who lived in Poland. Records are in Polish and includes names, relatives, and addresses.
All instructions and sample images are found in this article. Questions and other comments can be posted on the message board.
We are also happy to add the following UK project.
UK Removal of Graves and Tombstones
This collection consists of registers of graves and tombstones, where the grave inscriptions were recorded before the grave was removed to another location. In this project, you will find records of those that were buried and what was recorded on their grave marker.
All instructions and sample images are found in this article. Questions, fun finds and other comments can be posted on the message board.
We would like to thank everyone for their help keying during this difficult time. Both those who have been keying for us for many years and others who are new to the process. THANK YOU!
Happy Indexing!
I have logged in well over 22,000 records for ancestry. My latest project was the USHMM Jewish Survivors in Poland. This is a very tedious project where each image is sometimes over 100 names. Recently, I spent hours and hours on it, and submitted it on time. I just received (and this occurred once before) a message saying that the images were not submitted on time and would be sent back. Please look into this. I am not going to be working on this whole project until you find out why your system is not accepting on time images. Way too much work was put into it for it to be lost.
