A new look

We have been working to update all parts of the World Archives Project and the time came yesterday for a blog facelift.  Coming up next is the online dashboard Рbecause it is more involved we are still anticipating it will be a few more months until we are back online.

Alongside these changes we continue to work on improving the keying tool and backend support.  We appreciate your support and patience as we continue to make changes and improve your indexing experience.

Questions and feedback can be sent to worldarchivesproject@ancestry.com.

What action is being taken to ensure that large files do not ‘Time Out’ when submitted?

When the new keying tool was introduced I lost about 400.000 records keyed/reviewed. Is there any chance that they are added to my total records keyed/reviewed?

The record counts are still going wrong. I had 191 keyed and then submitted a set with several hundred – the count went up to 234. Suspect a thousand has been lost.

Malcolm,
We are working on this issue – as soon as you encounter it again please email worldarchivesproject@ancestry.com and let us know what image set is not submitting.

Elisabeth, Kate,
We are still working on the stats. We have a lot of backend work going on in preparation for the online dashboard to be back online and stats plays a major role. As soon as we have updates we will let you know.

Where are all the image sets??! I thought some of the Poor Law Records were coming back?

When will AWAP offer new record projects for keying and reviewing?

Chris, Karen,
We will have more to index. We are still getting back on our feet and have run into some backend difficulties.
I know the lack of variety has been difficult but we have made great progress on a few older projects.

In trying to submit an image set, I received the following error message:

“The server did not provide a meaningful reply; this might be caused by a contract mismatch, a premature session shutdown or an internal server error.”

My last image was a Capture. At any rate, I can’t get the set to submit and have tried several times with the same result. Thought I would pass this along if it helped to troubleshoot.

It is skipping over the Finish the Image Set Button. I never get a chance to hit it. If I reopen the set, that last image is as though I never completed it.
