Kirkcaldy Scotland, War Albums

This project is full of Registers and Photographs of soldiers who fought in the Boer War and World War One. We are indexing lots of rich information but most of the records only have rank, regiment and residence city.  Please capture as much detail when available.  All military personnel under photographs or within a list of events should be indexed. Names of individuals within events are not soldiers and shouldn’t be indexed.

If you have questions about this project please post them on the Discussion page or the message boards.

Are you sure the town is correct. Looks like Kirkcaldy a town in Fife, Scotland.

The town is Kirkcaldy, you might wish to amend the blog post title!

I do not yet see it listed as available. This is the part of Scotland that half my family came from. So I am especially interested.

No sign of any listing if sets to Key or Review – and no Stats of any kind appearing. I’m guessing it hasn’t been activated yet for some reason – or maybe no-one has noticed the rubber band broke!

Well I’ve just seen one set for Review – this says the Project is 64% completed so I guess no more sets to Key but those for Review coming through. Still no Project Stats showing on the Project page though.

The project wasn’t very big, only 194 total images. Thanks for watching for new projects.

My fathere was stationed at Kirkcaldy soon after he enlisted in WW1 He said he was in E Company Y.S Batt, I assume Battalion and mentioned the Skating Rink. I’m puzzled as he was in Thethford Norwich in June 1918 – can anyone explain why he was at Kirkcaldy. I live in Melbourne Australia so its difficult to find answers any help greatly appreciated. Thank you, James.
