New Projects!
Today brings us a handful of smaller projects.
- A List of Emigrants from England to America, 1682-1759
- This is a book that provides information for early immigrants to America. It was previously “indexed” by OCR. The records are typed and easy to follow although there is some dissecting of the data to determine which fields to key. Using the image samples will greatly assist in determining what fields to key. If you have questions or feedback about this project post on the Discussion page or on the UK Records message board.
- Medway, Kent, England, Poor Law Union Records, 1838-1948 (Part 3)
- This project is like an old friend – we have indexed quite a few Poor Law projects. The records mainly detail the admission and discharge of individuals who were in the Workhouses. These records are handwritten but are generally on printed forms. If you have questions or feedback about this project post on the Discussion page or the UK Records message board.
- Runaway Servants, Convicts, and Apprentices, 1728-1796
- These records detail individuals who were being sought out generally by their masters. This is another project that was previously indexed by OCR so it is type written and easy to follow. If you have questions or feedback about this project post on the Discussion page or the U.S. Records-Other message board.
- The Complete Book of Emigrants in Bondage, 1614-1775
- These records include a list of English convicts sentenced to emigrate to America between the years 1614-1775. It is also typed and easy to follow as well as being a good lesson in history. If you have questions or feedback about this project post on the Discussion page or the UK Records message board.
Between all four projects there are currently only 1260 keying image sets available. Happy indexing!
