Traveling all around the world
This week brings us 3 new projects – one from the US, one from the UK and one from Australia.
- Alabama, Surname Files, 1901–2005
- These records are an easy key – we are only capturing the names written at the top of the page. If you are looking for a break from the more complicated projects download a few image sets. (It is reminiscent of the Andrews Newspaper project.)
- If you have questions or feedback about this project please post them on the Discussion page or the US Other Records message board.
- Dorset, England, Poor Law Settlement and Removal Records, 1682-1886
- We have keyed quite a few Poor Law collections over the years so although this is new it will be comfortable for those who have keyed similar projects in the past. For our newer keyer these records are interesting in that they provide insights into the early welfare system in the UK. The records are handwritten and span a large number of years so can vary in difficulty – you can see this in the variety of sample images.
- If you have questions or feedback about this project please post them on the Discussion page or the UK Records message board.
- South Australia, Australia, Police Gazettes, 1927-1947 (Part 2)
- We have also completed quite a few Police Gazette projects. These records contain details about law enforcement – promotions, arrests, crime reports – and we are keying the names of the individuals involved in the article. The records are typed and names are easy to find as can be seen in the sample images.
- If you have questions or feedback about this project please post them on the Discussion page or the Australia Records message board.
Happy indexing!
