New year, new projects
After the drought comes the windfall – today brings us 4 new projects!
- Belfast, Northern Ireland, The Belfast Newsletter (Birth, Marriage and Death Notices), 1738-1925 (Part 2) Similar to part 1 … exactly the same instructions but different records. The images have been presorted so there should be records to key on every image. We are only keying records for the primary individual in the article. Due to image quality and the amount of scouring it may take to locate the records to be keyed we have rated this as an Average project. If you have questions about this project you can post them on the wiki Discussion page or the UK message board.
- New South Wales, Australia, Colonial Secretary’s Papers, 1788-1856 (Part 1)As the title implies this project contains documents regarding various events – miscellaneous forms are generally in letter format while birth, marriage and death records are in table format. Based on handwriting and the variety of record types (resulting in more instructions to read) this project is rated as Advanced. If you have questions about this project you can post them on the wiki Discussion page or the Australia message board.
- Somerset, England, School Registers, 1860-1914 For this project we are keying the names of the students along with parent names as they appear – this does make for a lot of fields so typically there are likely more than fit on your screen. The records are on printed forms and the handwriting is generally legible so we’re rated it as Average difficulty. If you have questions about this project you can post them on the wiki Discussion page or the UK message board.
- USHMM – Poland, Łódź Ghetto Register Books, 1939-1944 (Part 4) This project includes records for individuals who lived in the Łódź Ghetto. They are handwritten on printed forms that are in German – even with the language difference it is easy to follow along with what data should be keyed for each field. Based on being a non-English project, lack of sample images and the handwritten records this project has been rated as Advanced. If you have questions about this project you can post them on the wiki Discussion page or the USHMM message board.
We are excited to start the new year off with all of these new projects. Happy indexing!
