More From Down Under
We have two new projects today – South Australia, Australia, Police Gazettes, 1927-1947 (Part 1) and New South Wales, Australia, Sheriff’s Papers (Part 1).
The South Australia, Australia, Police Gazettes, 1927-1947 (Part 1) are similar to the other Police Gazette projects we are and have keyed – typed articles containing information about crimes. It is an easy project and interesting reading, and the bonus is when there are pictures of the criminals. If you have questions or feedback about this project you can post on the Discussion page or Australia Records message board.
The New South Wales, Australia, Sheriff’s Papers (Part 1) is a collection of correspondence regarding prisoners. These records are handwritten but are generally written by the same individual and legible so easier to decipher. These are letters so a little reading is necessary to determine whether there is relevant data to key and whom to key. If you have questions or feedback about this project you can post on the Discussion page or Australia Records message board.
Happy indexing!
What happened to the French Election Cards? It seems we hadn’t made much progress on them, but I was planning to work on them until a project came along that I preferred to do.
