Three new projects!
Today brings us three new projects – Tasmania, Reports of Crime, 1861-1883, Victoria, Australia, Police Gazettes, 1914-1924 and the return of London, England, Selected Poor Law Removal and Settlement Records, 1828-1930 (Update).
The Tasmania, Reports of Crime, 1861-1883 and Victoria, Australia, Police Gazettes, 1914-1924 projects are pretty much the same, except for location. These records report crimes listing suspects, convicts and victims – often listing descriptions of the individuals. (We are not keying officials, lawyers, or court personnel unless they were involved in the crime.) If you have questions or feedback about these projects please post a message on the Discussion pages – Tasmania, Victoria – or the Australia Records message board.
And the London, England, Selected Poor Law Removal and Settlement Records, 1828-1930 (Update) project is an old friend. (There were a few thousand image sets that were not indexed.) These records detail the movement of individuals who were being supported by their parish, mainly within the Shoreditch area of London. Because this project has been around for a little while there are many Q and A on the Discussion page that are helpful in determining how the records should be keyed. If you have questions or feedback for this project please post a message on the Discussion page or UK Records message board.
Happy indexing!
