World Archives Project

This past fall the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and Ancestry launched a program for students in the U.S. to participate in keying records as part of their experience in learning about the Holocaust. The USHMM education staff have reached out to schools and we currently have 3 schools participating in the program. Having two high school students myself – both of whom have keyed and enjoyed the experience – I am excited for the students to have the experience of seeing the records first hand and entering the names of the survivors and victims. This is a wonderful opportunity to enhance their learning experience and bring the events of the past into the present.

Specific projects have been selected for the students to work on that are not available to the general World Archives Project community.

For the student program we are using the double key/arbitrate model and as such need to add arbitrators to this group.  If you would like to participate in the World Memory Project student program as an arbitrator send an email to worldarchivesproject@ancestry.com.
