It’s Wednesday so there must be new projects!
Two new projects are now available to key – Rutherford County Marriages and USHMM – Krakow, Poland, Applications for ID Cards for Jews during World War II (Part 2).
The Marriages of Rutherford County, North Carolina, 1779-1868 is a small collection. The records are typed so this is a perfect collection for beginners to work on to get used to the keying tool.
The USHMM – Krakow, Poland, Applications for ID Cards for Jews during World War II (Part 2) is the second in a series of projects we will be keying from the Krakow collection. There are two difference between this and the first project.
1.This project is single key/review. In reviewing past collections we do not feel that there will be a decrease in quality and we are excited for the 100% review. The other reason we have decided to transition to single key/review process is to hopefully get the records online more timely.
2. Part 2 has about half the records as the first collection.
There is a sense of urgency around the USHMM record collections due to the advanced ages of the survivors of the Holocaust and their families. And as you know, it is far easier to find these records when there is an index so we are working on ways to decrease the time it takes between releasing the projects and getting the index online.
If you have questions regarding either project please post them on the Discussion page.
We appreciate your contributions to the World Archives Project!
Why is the Rutherford project not available? Surely, it hasn’t all been checked out already. I know you said it’s a small project, but I was hoping to download a few image sets before they were all gone.
