As consumer genomics grows in popularity and becomes more affordable, Ancestry is pleased to announce a new Bay Area Genomics Meetup group.
The goal of this group is to encourage collaboration between companies and academia to help solve difficult and interesting technology and scientific problems to address this rapidly growing market. Topics will vary from one Meetup to the next and will be driven by interest from the community.
The group is intended for genomic scientists, computational biologists and data scientists interested in analyzing genomic data as well as developers and engineers interested in implementing robust, scalable software solutions and bioinformatic pipelines. Anyone who wants to learn, network and grow in the field of genomics is also welcome to attend.

During this Meetup, Catherine Ball, Chief Scientific Officer at Ancestry will discuss the challenges and excitement of building, maintaining and gaining scientific insights from the world’s largest direct-to-consumer genomics database with more than 2 million processed samples.
