This four day Footprints of Family History educational conference honors the host city as the place where the ancestors of millions of Americans first set foot on the continent. I am so disappointed that this conference is scheduled to begin the day school opens here in the northeast. For us parents, it could not come at a worse time. A week later would allow us to get our kids settled in a routine before trying to get away. To add insult to injury, I saw an interview the conference chair did with Dick Eastman in which he extolled the things they would have to involve the children. Why then schedule a conference for the week school opens. Doesn’t seem very user friendly.
