Tomato Soup Recipe from The Boston Globe

Ingredients:

  • One Quart of Fresh Tomatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • 4 Ounces of Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon of Flour
  • Two Spoons of Salt
  • ⅓ Spoon of Cayenne Pepper
  • Half a Pint of Milk
  • 3 Pints of Water

Directions:

  • Dice tomatoes finely
  • Dice onions finely
  • Add oil to pot
  • Add diced tomatoes
  • Add diced onions
  • Stir ingredients together
  • Add salt and cayenne pepper
  • Add two pints of water
  • Add butter and flour
  • Add final pint of water
  • Mix well
  • Cover 45 minutes on medium
  • Add hot milk
  • Serve with bread and enjoy
