Corn Bread Recipe from The Maui News

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 Cup of Cornmeal
  • 1 1/4 Cup of Flour
  • 1/4 Cup of Sugar
  • 5 Teaspoons of Baking Powder
  • 3/4 Teaspoons of Salt
  • 1 Cup of Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Tablespoon of Crisco or butter

Directions:

  • Mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
  • Sift into a bowl
  • Add milk, well beaten egg, and melted Crisco/butter
  • Spread in a pan and bake for 20 minutes at 400º
