Postcard Poser – September

Posted by Kelly on 15 September 2011 in General, Postcard Poser, Record Collections

Can you guess the location of this month’s postcard poser?  This one is really tricky as it’s just a regular street, albeit in one of the UK’s major city districts.

For those who are new to this feature on our blog, every month we share a postcard-style photo taken somewhere in the UK. It could be a particular property, a famous landmark, or just a view of the town centre. All you have to do is tell us where the photo was taken in the comments section below.

I think it could be Southall Broadway, the junction with Lady Margaret Road and Uxbridge Road and South Road. the building on the left looks like the Public House which I think is called The Three Horse Shoes.

It looks to me like the corner of Palmerston and Forest Roads in Walthamstow, London E17. If it is, the pub is still there -I’ve just gone past it in the No. 123 bus!

Man at the front looks Jewish I’d say London somewhere with a Jewish community

Well looked at Google Maps and both Three Horseshoes or Lord Palmerston are two stories.
Tooting Bec Wheatsheaf is three but the roof is very different.
If Hammersmith were in King St???

I think London – looks like a big church down on left behind the trees.

No kids in the street. No horse n’ carts. No hawkers.
Do we get a clue or two.

Well done Andy you got it! Thanks to everyone for taking part. We always get such a good response, perhaps we should do it weekly, what do you all think?

21 Jan16 September 2011 at 12:50 pm

Yes, weekly please.

OK Kelly, now that you’ve announced the correct answer, let’s see how many lost-and-confused still try posting their guesses like last time ;-)
