Postcard Posers – May

Can you guess the location of this month’s postcard poser? It may look easy at first glance but there’s a twist, can you spot what it is?

For those who are new to this feature on our blog, every month we share a postcard-style photo taken somewhere in the UK. It could be a particular property, a famous landmark, or just a view of the town centre. All you have to do is tell us where the photo was taken in the comments section below.

I think it is Brighton’s West Pier, it was destroyed a few years ago.

Thanks for taking part everyone! It is indeed Brighton’s old West Pier, taken back in it’s heyday. Unfortunately the pier fell in to disrepair and was closed in the 1970′s, then finally destroyed by fire in 2003 before a long campaigned-for restoration project had begun.

This is taken from the end of the Brighton Pier, Brighton,West Sussex in the years between 1885 and 1900. Classic shot.

I would like to complain about the choice of picture for this competition. I regularly enter these type of things and this was far too easy.

Can we have a better selection next time please?

Perhaps somewhere like Cambridge, which is a far better place than Brighton.
