Electric family tree hits Mad Hatters Parade

Posted by on 14 May 2010 in Company News, General

Ancestry member Vera Bromage recently got in touch with me to request our Ancestry.co.uk logo, which she wanted to feature on her fancy dress costume for the Tour de Presteigne – an event described as ‘ The UK’s largest electric bike exhibition’. Vera was taking part in the Mad Hatters Parade and to celebrate her ten years of family history research, decided to go as a Family Historian!

She dressed in Victorian / Edwardian costume and decorated the basket on the back of her electric tricycle with family photos and logos from family history websites that have helped her research over the years.  The family tree consisted of a branch that she pruned from a hedge and decorated with leaves printed with names from her family tree.  Vera’s original and detailed outfit earned her cheers from the crowds of people lining the High Street.

Well done Vera – we think your outfit was fantastic!

Well thought of Annabel, got my husband laughing when I read it out to him. We would have seen you up the road, but we had our son here.
