I just happened across an interesting CNN article that says that genetic studies have revealed that humans were nearly extinct some 70,000 years ago. Following a drought, numbers dwindled to an estimated 2,000 beings. You can read the entire article at CNN.com.

I was watching a Discovery Channel program on super volcanoes (like the one at Yellowstone) this week and they were suggesting that this near-extinction of humans may have been a result of a mega eruption from one of these monsters.
Hmmm… That explains why I’ve found so few names in my Family Tree around 68,000 BC.
Seems I read something in the Bible about the near distruction of the human race, a flood, an ark….
Years ago I read an article in Readers Digest that quoted an earlier SCIENTIFIC study that showed that DDT was the most effective “bug spray” for farmers and that it was COMPLETELY HARMLESS to humans and animals. It is truly interesting what “facts” we can read about. Wait a year or so and there will be another theory.
