  1. Just wanted to let you know that the word lightning was misspelled in your article. I am a former medical transcriptionist so errors jump out at me.

I find your articles very interesting.

  2. I find your weekly articles to be quite inspiring and helpful, as I’m new to the geneology scene. The hint for “Create a Visual Impression” is a wonderful idea, and you’ll be happy to know that I’ve already started on it! I bought a postcard of the “SS Montclare” on eBay, the ship my paternal grandma and her parents came to Canada on, exactly 80 years ago. I also had the chance to visit two of her childhood homes in Wales last month, and took lots of photos. I think this will be a thrilling new hobby, and thanks so much for all the neat ideas you send me weekly!

  3. Besides collecting old photos, be sure to take new ones of the places your family loves today. A visit to grandma and grandpa’s house in Greensburg, Kansas always included a trip to the soda fountain in the drug store, visiting the old well and shopping in the old brick church turned antique mall. Now after the May tornado all of those places are gone – and many more places that my parents, grandparents and even great grandparents frequented. I’ve found postcards of several places but I am sorry to say I never took a single photo of my family enjoying those sites.
