Weekly Planner: Restock with Back-to-School Sales

Whether you have school-age children or not, those back-to-school sales can mean big savings. Office supplies are a must when it comes to keeping a family history organized, and when I’m off on a research trip, one of my best friends is my spiral notebook. This week I got ten spiral notebooks for $1 and two packages of twenty-four pens for $1. Pencils, all types of paper, binders, file folders, organizers and countless other supplies that can help you with your research are marked down drastically at this time of year. Stock up now and you’ll find over the course of the year that you’ll not only have what you need to stay organized, but you’ll have saved a bundle!

  1. Yes and how about the file folders, tabs, permanent markers, It is very easy to spend a lot of money of office supplies. Save money and buy on sale.

  2. I already bought all these items on sale as you suggested. But I am glad to see that you have us all in mind by recommending that we do this. Thanks!

  3. Hi, I’m so happy that you brought this to the attention of your readers. I buy enough to supply 30+ students every year. We have a school that needs that kind of help. Children show up with nothing. I do get strange looks when I lug in all the bags. It’s worth it to get the looks. And it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to provide for all these children.

  4. Bless you Jean! Teachers like you are hope for the future. I’ve seen the same thing in our neighborhood school and while PTA tries to help out, it’s astonishing how much teachers end up having to purchase for their classes.

    Thanks for all you do!

  5. Don’t forget that some states such as North and South Carolina are having tax free days on August 3-5 this year. Stock up on supplies and pay no taxes! And don’t forget those teachers, pencils are a definite must have item and glue sticks. They are always running out of those. One more thing, underwear, new of course for the clothes closet at the school. Our prek-1st grade school of over 600 students go through a lot of underwear each year. The school nurse will love you.
