  1. For Mary McGrath – I have been looking for a “Mr. McGrath”, who was a Yonkers fireman ca 1930. I have a picture of him with my grandfather, Lou Mayer, outside the firehouse, which was close to my grandparents’ home on Mulberry St. My mother and her sisters always called him “Mr. McGrath” so I have no first name, but have heard so many stories of him and all the firemen there helping my grandmother and her 5 young children after my grandfather died in 1931, while still a very young man. I am hoping there is a connection, although I know its unlikely.

  2. For Dee Dagner. I’m sorry to say that your Mr. McGrath is not related to me. My father’s family lived in The Bronx and were not firemen. Good luck with your search

  3. Your uncle Donal looks simular to my brother Jerry. My mother’s name is Mary Callaghan, she lives in Lindsay Ontario.

  4. Catherine,

I would be curious about your brother Jerry looking like our Uncle Donal. We have tons of Callaghan’s and O’Callaghan’s and even some Callahan’s in our tree. Where did her family hail from we seem to have some that came over many years ago as well as more recent times.

    Margaret
