How do we find out about the conferences? when & where?

Barbara — there are conferences and seminars held across the country. Some are sponsored by national organizations like the National Genealogical Society and the Federation of Genealogical Societies. Others are held by state and regional societies, like the Southern California Genealogical Society and the Ohio Genealogical Society. We try to mention the larger ones here on the blog. Another source is the FGS calendar of events: http://www.fgs.org/eventListings.php?nm=211 . Also, look for the genealogical societies in your area (state and county) for their upcoming events. There are some great ones out there!
