Please stay tuned. Each country has its own sweepstakes laws, so there is some work to do before we can roll this out across the globe.

AND comments open only until Feb. 15th? Something is very wrong here.

Howard Sat, 01 Mar 2014 02:27:20 +0000 http://blogs.ancestry.com/ancestry/?p=14661#comment-203519 Canadian money is good enough for a worldwide membership but not good enough to enter your contests. Why shouldn’t we qualify to get assistance from the professionals to help find our ancestors? Just one more disappointment from a biased organization.

I am a second generation Canadian, with my ancestors living in the U.S since the 1600 and 1700s until the early 1900s. Would love to be able to enter this contest to have the opportunity to win and get help in researching more on my U.S ancestors. Please, in the future, allow Canadians to enter as well.

They run separate contests there.

Don’t know the odds of my winning but I’m hopeful! I have been seriously researching for about 5 years now. And have made some HUGE discoveries. I was even able to connect with another member who had a picture of my great great grandmother and her father my 3xgreat grandfather. And my uncle bears a striking resemblance to him! For those of you who complain you can’t find anything, the ancestry commecials are deceiving, most of my finds have been while sitting what seems like forever in the wee hours of mornings, sifting thru bunches of records before finding one small piece of the puzzle. But then it is so gratifying!!

I know for a fact that I will not win so why even try. I ran up against a brick wall with my grandmother (Clara Bontiel Schreffler) father Cornelius Bontiel. All of sudden he appears then disappears. As for her Mother, well can’t find no where. Ancestry will not even say that either lived, so why try. Good luck to whom ever wins.

Bastards and their anti-military ness.
