Ruby:

If you want a quickie answer, go to Ancestry's One World Tree. It has a very long reputation for being filled with errors, as any experienced reputable genealogist/family historian will tell you. I did find your two people with Emma's father listed. Took me less than 5 minutes.

Use the information on OWT with extreme caution, although Emma and John were married 11 Jul 1923 in Kingman, Kansas, so it is more recent. You should always check for source documentation. Don't count on anyone's tree being 100% accurate.

I agree the post is "salesy" for Roots Tech 2012 but the reality is, the alternative steps that you're describing are a lot harder in real life. There's a reason why these services have a fee and it's not simply because they're out to make money. Your way is free but it also would involve 3 hours of time. That's tough to do for a lot of people.

#1 Ruby:

Unfortunately this blog is not for genealogy queries as the title indicates. It’s an ad for Roots Tech 2012. Try finding your nearest Family History Center (familysearch.org) online and call them. The branch libraries are located in the local Mormon (LDS) churches. They can help you or direct you to another local genealogy society. This kind of help is free. Use trees on Ancestry (or anywhere else) only as a guide. You must do your own research and the above-mentioned places will help you.

In searching for a relative John Milton Cox I find that he is only found as the husband of Emma Opal Wooldridge in the Roots Web site for descendents of the Wooldridge fanily there, The family trees on Ancestry do not even list her as a child of Albert Edward Wooldridge. I don;t know wht to so next. Thank you. Ruby Kelley
