Let me begin with my apologies for the confusion and misinformation with this recent downtime. We were set to begin the work april 27 as indicated, but as you noticed we were not able to actually begin the work as scheduled. Compounding this delay, I was not able until now to provide a timely update to this post. The maintenance was successfully performed early this morning.

Everything appears back up. Sounds like not only do you need to learn about time zones around the world --but how to read a calendar. However, the initial notice was posted on Apr 27 and said "tonight" so was Kenny misinformed, the maintenance postponed by 24 hours and no update posted or was there also an unplanned outage. Would nice to hear from ancestry.com directly on this blog as to what happened.

It is now 1:30 a.m. in California, April 29, 2010 and I am still unable to enter my Myer Family Tree. Is this normal?

I hope it will be available to me by noon April 29, Pacific time.

So-oo-Kenny-when you posted the announcement on the 27th and said tonight-which I took to mean tonight the 27th of April going into the morning of the 28th of April-you really meant tomorrow night the 28th of April going into the morning of the 29th of April.

I wondered why I could still access my trees early on the morning of the 28th. But what does a "short time" really mean?

Ancestry needs to do a better job to alert their subscribers at least 24 hours prior to the start of any family tree maintenance so members can schedule their research time accordingly.

Who woulda thunk an organization dedicated to HISTORY could get a date wrong? I'm with those above who are praying that the announced maintenance is just a day late and a dollar short and that is the reason that all of my trees, including over two years of research, have suddenly disappeared.

It will come back, it's just a matter of WHEN. I've never lost anything (data) except ACCESS TIME.

What does "Kenny" define as a short time? It's already been an hour...

The thing that has me the most worried is that it is letting me log on, but my tree has vanished.
