We wanted to let everyone know that we are experiencing some intermittent site problems that have slowed down the site. We are actively working to resolve these issues and apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

I agree with you Andy that is just too funny. I am hopeful that with all the newbies checking out the site that it may make lots of new connections for all of us “oldies” :)

Unfortunately, the new newbies are, imho, much more likely to immediately start following all those shaking little green leaves and clicking and copying (without really checking sources, etc.) what is already here rather than bringing a lot of new stuff with them.

After all- that is what the commercials implied they should do!

It only slowed down after the show “Who Do You Think You Are?” aired on NBC tonight with Sarah Jessica Parker. The show was absolutely fantastic! I plan to be a regular watcher! LOVED IT!

This is so irritating to say the least. I am trying to put in a marriage record and it puts it in Birth as well as Marriage to the husband, not the wife. I already have the birth record. I don’t need the marriage record to reflect his Birth, just to his marriage. Always problems on weekends.

i know that this is of subject but would be grateful if you draw the attention of who ever at ancestry this is relevant to

AS a UK member originating from London i have made use of the metropolitan archive transcripts and found then to have saved me a lot of time and effort and i wanted to say thank you.

but there is one thing that is anoying me. why is it that we can only save the record to our tree as a sourse for

London birth and baptism records to birth and not baptism
London banns and marriages to the marriage and not to banns
and London death and burial records to death not burial
on out trees.

another thing banns are read 3 times on 3 separate dates so we should be able to have 3 boxes for this event on the tree so that we don’t have to enter an event 3 times.

one other thing the add media button on the different events is unneeded and gets in the way if you add a description making it difficult to read. we really don’t need it you could add the option to the upload media option above the events asking if you want to attach it to an event or not for that person.

why is it that when you add a source it not only adds to the actual event but the name and birth as well unless we go to advance before attaching. the baptism is a pain as it creates a separate box for residence and adds England unless we go to advance totally unneeded as the place is always there anyway.

if you want to remove the source from an event at times the name of the source gets in the way of the cross as well making it difficult to remove it from your tree with out bring up the actual record and removing it there.

I am getting frustrated when I research my collected material……..:( I was a member 2-3 years ago; Ancestry.com was wonderful! I signed up again hoping I would have the same feeling:( I don’t. Maybe you have changed your Website too much or I may be doing something wrong:) Other Searching/Web-sites are changing too. They are getting worse instead of better (in my own point of view).

Hope you can make your site fully operative….SOON!

I have had problems on here now for about two weeks.
When I first log on for the day and go to my tree and want to add records the first name I look at stays there all the time ,not the person whos records I want to add ???
I paid a lot of money to upgrade and as far as I’m concerned its been downgraded
I emailed you about 5 days ago and still not had a reply.

For the past two days when I choose anything on this site and hit search, the site logs me out. The web address changes from ancestry.com to about:blank. Any idea if this is part of the problem they’re working on or not?

For the past two days, anytime I select ‘exact’ for birthplace for a US state, no US census listings appear in the results. This happens even I had previously found a record that meets that criteria and attached it to the person for whom I’m searching, so I KNOW that there are census records out there somewhere!

Is anyone else having this problem? Is it part of the ‘intermittent’ site problems? It’s very frustrating to say the least.

USING MY CANVAS:
PROBLEMS OCCURING PRINTING FROM MANAGE PAGES:
1. DOESN’T BRING ALL INFO OVER
2. DOESN’T PRINT ALL INFO ON SHEET
3. DOESN’T PRINT INFO AT ALL
4. AFTER 10-45 PAGES KICKS YOU OUT OF THE SYSTEM.

I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED SINCE ALL THE INFORMATION GATHERED IN THE FILES ARE NOT BEING SHOWN ON MY CANVAS THEREFORE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TRY AND COMPARE/EDIT ANY MISINFORMATION BEFORE PUBLICATION.

NOTE: IT SEEMS SINCE ANCESTRY IS SUPPOSE TO BE THE “BEST” YOU WOULD THINK SOMEONE THERE COULD WRITE A PROGRAM TO NOT ONLY IDENTIFY POSSIBLE ERROR COMPARISION BUT BE ABLE TO MERGE SEPERATE “FAMILY” FILES. THIS WOULD BE MOST HELPFUL WHEN GATHERING INFORMATION. OF COURSE, IF YOUR TRYING TO MERGE INFORMATION FROM A DIFFERENT MEMBER PERMISSION WOULD BE NEEDED. LET’S TRY AND WORK ON THIS SHALL WE?????

NEWBIE ITIS…. I agree, with all the ads and all the TV shows sparking address it is draining our POWER over the ANCESTRY universe.
I think some records are missing also.
I looked up a bunch of North Carolina Marriages about 3 weeks ago, and suddenly these, Rutherford, Lincoln and Burke Co, Marriages are MISSING…
Really I resent Paying for this site and having all these issues… Get on with it.. and get it fixed…

As of 2:45 pm CDT I still can’t get to the information that was readily available last week. How did I know that after that Friday show we were going to crash big time????? It always does. I agree that the paying customers should not be experiencing these problems. Please do find the problem and fix it. Like others, I, too, have alot of work to do on this site.

I cannot get the site to complete any task. I can get to my person, but if I want to add info to him, it just times out. This is very sucky at best. It’s not my computer because I just tested my D/L speed and other sites are fine also. It has to be an Ancestry.com server problem.
If they can’t execute commands now, why are they trying so hard to get new members?

Whenever I try to get onto Ancestry.com, I get a message of “Done, but with errors on page.” All other websites I get on are fine, so I can only assume this is a server problem with Ancestry.com. Do we have any updates???? It gets very frustrating when you want to do searchs or work on your family tree and cannot even get into the website…
