Well is would appear that I'm not the only one with Ancestry's site. At this same time last year I found myself to be a "registered guest" even though I had been paying for a monthly subscription of $19.95AUS. By the time I realized after the Christmas rush, the price had gone up $2 and I would have to re-subscribe at the new price. I didn't bother until August of 2009 when I joined for a full year. Now I find that when I log in I'm a darn "registered guest" again for Pete's sake. What happens over the Christmas holidays at Ancestry? Do they reboot the system and it falls over? Still waiting for replies but only just sent the email so I must be patient but I have research to do!

I am not sure that there is a lot of value in my making any comments on this blog, since my comments may bother some self-absorbed and self-righteous people who need to criticize others who write in. But, since this is a blog dealing with problems with ancestry's international sites, I thought I'd share this anyway: I have a family tree on ancestry.de (the German ancestry site), and I added a few nice comments about my grandfather on his profile sheet. Ancestry.com informed me that I had added a story to my site (which it always does, as if I needed to know that I did this!!). So, I clicked on the line that informed me of this, and, in GERMAN in said on my site "Monika hat einen Klapperschlangenbiss als sie ueberquert die Prairie"--translated into English "Monika got bitten by a rattlesnake as she crossed the prairie." How this fit into the story I had told about my grandfather I will never know, but--when I contacted technical support to ask them what in the world this was all about, I never had the courtesy of an answer. That happened about six weeks ago, so I doubt that I will be hearing from them now!

Enough of the Germany additions...move on.. I have no ancestors from Germany and for the price I pay for this service - I feel that there needs to be more variety....

Again postings which are irrelevant!

One person posts his username and password, and two other post "Type your comment here"!!!

I read this blog for important information about Ancestry.

Isn't it time this blog had postings moderated before displaying them?
Or possibly create a blog for whingers only?

Because of the problems on your homepage I was not able to cancel my 14 day free trial. I wasn't allowed access to my account. Your company have therefore, despite the e-mails I have sent and none of which you have replied to, drawn a years subscription to a cost of 374,25 USD from my Mastercard. I hope you repay me said amount. Disappointed lady in Sweden

Given you posted your usere name and password where anybody who accesses ancestry.com can see this information-- I strongly suggest you change both ASAP.
