DNA results update to new industry standard

Ancestry.com DNA has recently updated a Y-chromosome DNA test marker name and its allele value to comply with a recently released industry-wide recommendation by the International Society of Genetic Genealogy (ISOGG).

One of the markers in our Y-chromosome DNA test has changed names from “Y-GATA H4.1″ to “Y-GATA H4“.  The allele value of “Y-GATA H4″ has also changed.  This has been done based on the recommendation of ISOGG and a consensus of genetic genealogists.  This will not affect purchasers’ current haplogroup assignments.

Ancestry.com DNA is committed to providing our customers with the most current and relevant results for family history research.  As other companies adjust their results to match the new standard, results will be more easily compared with the results in their databases and the results entered manually into our database.

For those of you that have purchased a Y DNA test you don’t need to take any action, but you can view your updated results right now.

Help,
I was using FTM 2006, doing fine on the Vista 32 bit. I then purchased a new desk top, only to find out that FTM is not compatilbe with it because it is a 64 bit. I then purchased the 2009 FTM which now freezes after maybe an hour of work, which then makes it hard to save since nothing is working. The error says the computer is not able to connect. So I saw the 2010 FTM site to where I could go to the class to see how it works. I ended up in the hosp. for surgery Mon. so I missed the class on the 29th. So far I am really upset with all the problems I am having. How can I get this problem solved without having to purchase, purchase and purchase? Do you have any idea as to why the program freezes? Please get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you.

Have you tried your link?

It takes me to a page that says

“Oops – There’s Nothing Here

It looks like the blog owner hasn’t written anything yet!”

I could not locate any blogs mentioning my problem, so I am posting it here. Hope it makes it to the proper place!
I am having problems printing censuses. I usually like the entire page, for the additional info it shows, plus possible family members as neighbors. The old way, I clicked “print” on the top bar of the census, chose landscape or portrait. Now, Click “print”, “image only” to file print, page set up, portrait/landscape, back to file, print. Numerous “clicks” instead of 2 the old way. Now the entire census is not printing. If Landscape, the bottom portion is not printed. If portrait, the right side not printed. If there is an easier/faster way to do this, I would like to know what it is It simply takes too much time to get one page printed! Like I said, the old way, click print!

Sylvia, I will pass your comment on to the FTM team. thanks.

Nancy, the link is working. Please try it again. thanks.

Ina, I will pass your comment on to the appropriate team. thank you.
