Quality of e-mail support is really subpar.

I sent an e-mail with detailing with specifics issues I was having with Mac OS X 10.4.11 and FireFox [Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U;PPCMac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120121 Firefox/3.0.˜]. Yes, I was that specific.

Then I get a reply asking "What browser are you using: IE7, FireFox, AOL or Safari."

I respond with "Please read my original e-mail. It details browser version OS version,
specifically.
BTW, I am having better results with Safari Version 3.2.1 (4525.27.1)"

Then recieve "The only two browsers that are officially supported on our site are IE7 and FireFox 3.0.x Please try FireFox and see if the error continues."

Is this support guy serious? I spent a significant amount of time detailing the issues I was having (and included a long list of browser errors shown by the Error Console of FireFox) and I get this inane series of responses.

BTW, I have noticed an uptick in general performance which is appreciated. And, I had a very fruitful phone conversation with somebody (I can't recall the name, hope it wasn't the same person!) about performance issues and misc stuff. That was greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Roger-

Great point. I missed this in my original post.

While we don't expect customers to see any impact from this maintenance, if some unforeseen issue were to arise it would impact all Ancestry sites.

I will update my original post with this additional information.

regards

Could this effect Ancestry sites other than .com? ie .co.uk, .au or .ca
